I love Thai food and I must say, it really wasn't that bad! My friend and I came here on a Friday night looking for some paid Thai and cashew chicken and yes! chicken pad Thai was great, the portion was large ($12) cashew chicken was a little too oily for me, but it still met up the standards ($13) the staffs were very friendly and kind, I appreciated that. they also include the gratuity in your check which was pretty convenient. will be back!

My favorite spring rolls ever! I wish they were a bit more consistent with serving size, but I'd say they are usually reliable for taste. It's not to say that the serving sizes are small per se. I'd say quantity ranges from average to largeish. If anything, there might be a little variance in spice, but you can specify the heat level to your tastes when ordering. If you order extra spicy, you will get extra spicy. The s.o. and I order from here regularly, both dine in and takeout. I've tried most of the dishes now, but I always go back to my usual: Fried spring rolls, grilled steak salad, and drunken noodles with beef. Uninspired? Maybe so, but damn tasty. I also have a soft spot for mango sticky rice or the occasional Thai iced tea--if I have room. Service is generally attentive and the waits never seem to be unreasonable. Although it's in the middle of a strip with atrociously laid out parking, the interior looks like they cared enough to result in a pleasant atmosphere.

Welcome to Tire Aroma! Seriously, the smell from the tire and auto shop next door is pretty strong. I can't help but wonder if it affected the way everything tasted. We ordered spring rolls, the Penang curry, and drunken noodles. We realized after we ordered that we weren't asked about the spice level. They turned out alright, but could have been spicier for our tastes. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with the flavors but I might have been thrown off by the strong smells. I also didn't think it was worth 40 dollars. Maybe it would be better as take out.

Great thai food in the area! The curry dishes (green, yellow, red) are delicious...u can get it "thai spicy" for an extra kick of spiciness although not necessary. The drunken noodles are good as well. The chicken with green bean dish was also tasty. They also have dessert but we were so full we didn't get to try them out this time.
(4)Dee D.
We had Spring Rolls, Drunken Noodles, Red Curry. All pretty good. Service was a bit slow but they were very nice. Portions were good sized for lunch portions.Vegetables and meats were fresh and tasty. Would I return yep.

Reliable and great service. I always feel welcome there. They are very professional there.

I ate here with a group last weekend, and the food and service leave a lot to be desired. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken. The portion of the food was okay, but the sauce tasted slightly off and left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. The noodles were plentiful but a bit mushy. The chicken was a little sparse in comparison. A couple others at our table were not satisfied with their platters either. The server was adequate for ordering and serving, but I was very disappointed with the distribution of bills. He told us that he was unable to provide individual checks for us. He basically split each meal into a separate bill, along with the drinks, then collected our credit cards, and charged at random. Apparently that was the best they could muster, and I ended up paying a few more dollars than what I should have. Again, the food and service are a bit subpar, and there are better Thai restaurants in the area.

A very nice find in the southern Baltimore area. Very good service from greeting to check; nice to see all employees pitching in with a smile on their face. Food was fresh and well prepared; salmon fresh and cooked to perfection. Vegetables crisp and tasty. Chicken satay appetizers well prepared , served with fresh jalapenos and cucumbers. Not sure about other review re size of portions, we found them generous and well presented. Even the bowels of rice were overflowing. Only complaint was the definition of 'hot' was translated to American tastes; may be better to prefix "medium spicy" with "Thai medium spicy'. Overall, it is worth a try. Best Thai in the Columbia area.
(5)Anthony S.
Food was very tasty, just needed to be much more food. Servings just too little for the price.

I converted from Bangkok 9 to this place. We got the soup, a noodle dish, Thai tea. The spice tray made this meal for me! Everything was delicious, staff was kind and attentive. Will def be going bCk to explore the menu! Best Thai in the area for me :)

Unfortunately, I had a very strange experience and have no desire to attempt this place again. I called to place an order for my friends and I; was ordering both vegan and non vegan dishes. There were a few questions I had regarding their "veganized" dishes. Their menu seemed to have tons of vegetarian options, so I did not foresee an issue with modifying a dish. Well, I was pretty wrong. I have a few friends that adore this place, but warned me to order some dishes with no fish sauce - cool, no problem. While on the phone, I asked if I could order pad thai - but with no fish sauce, the girl that was taking my order literally told me if I order it that way, it would be disgusting! She said this several times, it will be bland and disgusting "just warning you." At this point she had an attitude with me that I was trying to alter this dish. She was trying to convince me to not opt out the fish sauce and that "lots of vegans and vegetarians still order the dish with fish sauce." What??? I got pretty fed up and ended up canceling our order.

My family and I have frequented this establishment. For the past 1.5 to 2 years. We have dined at least once or twice per month here. After my most recent experience with the owner of the restaurant I will absolutely not return. Having dinner with a friend, decide to order take away for my mother and husband at home. I simply requested sides of the restaurants spice condiments. Specifically the jalapeño peppers to go. Upon receiving the request the owner was reluctant and hesitantly replied, umm OK... Akward response,so I replied, "unless you don't have any?" Owner, "Ill have to find some" I'm thinking, sure, that was strange and then brushed it off. When the owner returns he says to me in these exact words. (I wish that I were over embellishing but I am not ), "NOT TO BE MEAN, BUT YOU KNOW YOU CAN MAKE THESE AT HOME". I had no idea what to say to that comment as a paying customer in his restaurant. I found him to be incredibly rude and that snark unnecessary comment completely ruined my evening as well as my meal. The owner should keep the service of the establishment consistent. If a paying customer requests a condiment to go with the several meals purchased do not tell that customer they can make it at home themselves.

Went to this restaurant on a Sunday night and ordered food worth 50$, thinking of the good Thai food that I had in other places. But unfortunately, we didn't eat more than a spoon of each item before walking out of the restaurant paying for the mistake :( Would highly recommend you to skip this place!
(1)Lex M.
Ordered calamari and chicken pad Thai. Stopped by here a couple of times before and always been the best Thai in the area, but today... Seems like the food is starting to taste like fast food Thai. The pad Thai was slimy. Good thing i ordered Thai spicy. It was already mixed with the sprouts on top the noodles. Taste like something is missing. The calamari is crispy and good. The Thai iced tea is OK. The place needed some major cleaning. Maybe there's new management since last time I was here?
(3)Nancy S.
I gave this place a third try I that it tested funny because I was pregnant , but this place food not only taste bad smells awful I will never go again :(
(1)Beata K.
First time here and it was great. Got the green rice with chicken and drunken noodles with chicken- both were great. The green rice had 2 chili pepper next to it so it had some kick but it wasn't too spicy. Both dishes had a good amount of veggies and meat and were delicious. The place itself is pretty quiet and not expensive.
(4)Julekha D.
I'm surprised to see any negative reviews of this place. We've gotten takeout here at least a dozen times (eaten inside once) and it's consistently good food and great friendly service. This the best Thai restaurant I've come across in Greater Baltimore and lucky that it's not far from my house. I've gotten the spicy catfish, tofu and eggplant, pad Thai and the drunken noodles -- all great.

Went to check out the Asian Market across the way to see if it was better then the one I go to in Catonsville and the family were all dying of hunger so we looked across the way to find this place. We just walked in without looking into Yelp about it (rarity). This place is deceiving from the outside... the outside has like reflective tinting or something so the windows you can't really see through from the outside. It's a lot larger on the inside and it's very nicely decorated on the inside considering my expectations were low. I personally don't care what the inside looks like as long as they are clean and have excellent food... I will sit my family down on a cardboard box. The waitress we had was nice but their was a serious language barrier. I believe she didn't understand half the things I was asking because she kept nodding at me with a look of confusion on her face. So we just pointed at the things on the menu that we wanted and asked for it to all be SPICY! As usual, we started out with steam rice for my picky Bella and my "I'll eat anything" Ava...the bowl of rice was overcooked... incredibly starchy. This made me nervous since cooking rice is like 101 Asian Food Basics. We ordered the 'Pad Prik King (beef)' and although it didn't have Chinese long beans like it should have... they were nicely cooked and the beef was amazingly tender and flavors were on point. Like the best I have ever had in this particular dish. Although there was absolutely NO spice/heat to it whatsoever... we enjoyed it. We also ordered the "Chicken Satay".... decent in flavor... nice grill marks... peanut sauce was good but seriously small portions... 3 very small skewers. The mini side jalapeño cucumbers relish was crazy good if you could make out one whole bite out of it. We ordered the "Papaya Salad" and it had great freshness to it all to include the bed of lettuce it was on but the fish sauce backhanded me so hard that I couldn't forget it if I tried... large amounts of fish sauce in one dish is not forgetful. Lastly, was the "Chicken Pad Thai" and although it wasn't the worst I've ever had.. it's nothing to write home about. The noodles were broken off in small pieces... way overcooked... too sweet from the tamarind , I believe. The green onions were overcooked... just a soggy mess. All in all.. the portions, I thought were small considering the prices. The staff was attentive with constantly filling our glasses in Ninja mode fashion and just overall... good customer service... however, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here unless I was starving and across the st....again.

Ordered carry out. Funny they call it 'Thai Aroma' because the aroma was way off. Got to restaurant - restaurant needs to be ventilated - very musty. Also, red curry with chicken reeked -- smell is important to me and the smell wasn't right. Never smelled it like this before at either Bangkok Delight or Bangkok Garden - smell was pungent. Had to throw it out. Chicken Satay was edible but not that tasty. Tom Yum tasted soup awful. Overall, had to throw away 90% of the food and very disappointed with quality of the food.

I love the food at Thai Aroma- in fact, it is the best Thai food I've ever had. The service has left something to be desired here ever since Ty left, though, and today I waited nearly 20 minutes to be acknowledged after I was seated. They also don't have fountain soda or any beer on tap, so if you want something other than water, you are stuck with canned soda or bottled beer. My recommendation: a Chang and the Andrew Noodle Bowl (which is the namesake of a friend) or the Pad Thai Chicken.
(4)Taylor V. S.
First time at Thai Aroma. Trying the panang curry. A little mild for "Thai spicy," but I realize panang is traditionally mild. Wish it were a little more creamy and peanuty. Still pretty yummy. Drunken noodles were extremely tasty, but oddly gritty. I'd still order them again. They just need to come spicier!
(4)Leah G.
I always love pad see yew and this thai restaurant was definitely on point with this dish. I ordered the tofu pad see yew and the tofu was cooked perfectly. The only points keeping me from five stars is that my dish was a little cold by the time it got to the table and the dish was a tad garlicky for my taste. I liked how they used Chinese broccoli instead of American broccoli like some Thai restaurants do. Other than that, the atmosphere was nice - good for any occasion, family dinner, a meal with friends or a date night.
(4)Josh R.
I'm really disgusted by this place. I ordered green curry with chicken and it came out without the chicken being cooked thoroughly. The chicken pieces were literally gelatinous and pink in the middle. I sent it back, but in the end I threw it away because I was so grossed out. Luckily I didn't get sick because chicken should always be cooked thoroughly before consumption to prevent salmonella. Also the owners aren't Thai. They're Vietnamese.
(1)Raj S.
One of the worse food I had in months. Had their seafood platter and red Thai curry. Oh gosh I can't even explain how embarrassing the food was. Folks better go any fast food or burger restaurant than this one. The food was not even authentic Thai
(1)Christa K.
I've never had a bad dish here! The curries are amazing! Excellent desserts also. Reasonable prices for filling portions. Ever since a friend recommended this place, my husband & I have become regulars in date night!
(5)Adam R.
Best Thai place in Maryland. When it comes to a place run by a nice family, this is the place to be-watch out for the guy with glasses though- he's rude. They can make anything as spicy or sweet as you'd like it, so my family usually alters those but keeps to the same food. Try the Panang Curry if you want something out of the box, or stick to Green Curry or Pad Thai if you want, but, modify how spicy or sweet they are.
(5)Marivel S.
I love coming here every time I am in the area! It's the only place I prefer when it comes to Thai. I've tried numerous dishes and recommend the Pad See Ew, Wonton soup is great, and yellow curry are some of my favorites, and quite honestly they are usually my go-to dishes at any Thai restaurant. I definitely think they are delish and I will come back again next time my taste for Thai arises.
(4)Karen S.
The low rating is primarily for the service. Everything was crazy, crazy slow. We had a party of 10 and our orders came out incredibly slowly, and at least 20 minutes passed between the arrival of the first order and the last. It was confusing because some of the first things to come out and the last things were very similar, so we didn't understand the reason for the delay. Nobody apologized or explained anything. At the end, when we paid, they also took forever to come back with our credit cards. It wasn't particularly packed in there, though they did seem to be doing some take-out orders. The food was fine. Typical Thai food in the area. Most of things we ordered were about $11, whether it was curry, pad thai, fried rice, drunken noodles or something similar. Nothing really stood out but it was all decent-- we just wish we had gotten our food in a timely manner.
(2)M H.
Wow, what happened to this place. So sad. Food quality has gone down. No longer Thai, it's Chinese-Thai at best. Need to go back to Thai ingredients, Thai style rice and Thai chefs! If not it's just another Chinese restaurant. Take your money and hunger some were else.
(1)Kristina H.
I have ordered take out many times for Thai Aroma. They have gone down hill in terms of how good the food is since we began frequenting. Typically we rotate between ordering tho Pho; beef, chicken, or vegetable. Even when we ordered it to go the beef had good flavor and the ingredients were fresh. However the past few times we ordered the ingredients seemed to be bad: the cilantro has sand on it, and there wasnt much basil or jalapeños compared to what they usually provide. The beef also tasted funny and smelled off. Needless to say we no longer order the Pho. We have chosen a different dish the garlic beef stir fry, which is actually pretty good but the same if you got it elsewhere. There's a lot to be desired unfortunately....

I was watching Food Network and got to craving Pad Thai. I certainly can't make it, so I went to Yelp for take out suggestions. I decided on Thai Aroma. I called in Pad Thai and a few egg rolls. When I went in to get it, the bar looked pretty hopping. Surprising! Overall my Shrimp Pad Thai was a rather large portion. I was however displeased with the flavor. It just was not there. Basically it was a bowl full of noodles, some shrimp, and a few green onions in the mix. I had to douse it with soy at home to get through it. The egg rolls were over fried, and very crunchy. So..I guess this was a thumbs down. On to quest more Pad Thai elsewhere.
(3)Emily K.
This place has pretty good food. Pad ka prow chicken and dumplings were very tasty. But the service was a little slow and the price is high (as with all Thai restaurants).
(3)Dennis O.
I was here recently visiting a friend. There are, of course, many good Thai restaurants in the DMV, but most of those are near or inside the beltway. I happened to be out in "real Maryland" I guess you could call it...or is the Eastern Shore real Maryland? Well anyway, I stopped by this place. I ordered tom yum chicken (as I always do) and red beef curry. Tom yum was very good, although not the best I have ever had. Curry was delicious, but I should have told them to make it spicier. The portions are quite large, which is either good or bad, depending on how you feel about such things. For example, the soup seemed to be at least 25% bigger than the portion served at a local Thai restaurant I go to. Staff very friendly. If you live near here, you have to go.
(4)Akanksha K.
My favourite Thai place. Amazing people... Great attitude. I come here two three times a month and love the food each and every time. Great prices.. Great workers. While you are waiting for your to go order, they ask you for water and are very courteous and funny people. I always my all my friends and family visiting me here.
(5)Margaret N.
Only legit Thai food place in Ellicott City. Inside is pretty spacious! Love their drunken noodles and papaya salad! Their food is a bit on the salty side, but it definitely satisfies your taste buds, if you're in the mood for Thai/Malaysian!
(4)Andrew G.
Great pad Thai! Thai iced tea and everything else is just fantastic. I have been here many times and everytime has been great!
(5)Manuela H.
I always order the Tom yum noodle soup. Crab pad thai was great. It's pretty authentic and a good choice for the area.
(4)Shiehan C.
Disclaimer: I've only gotten to-go orders from here, haven't eaten in yet. This is my favorite place to get Thai food to go. My favorites are the Thai basil fried rice and drunken noodles. Perfect amount of flavors and spicy. I've only had one negative experience when the drunken noodles for lunch were a touch too greasy. Friends of mine have gotten the pad thai and curries - they all enjoyed it too. I also love the fact it's in the same plaza as Lotte so there's plenty of parking and I can grab a few groceries while my order is cooking.
(4)Eric L.
Overall pretty decent, but not fantastic thai food. The vegetables were fresh and the portions average. I'm partial to fresh thai chiles which are not abundant in their food. The fried rice and massaman curry were a bit greasy which was surprising. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to visit or grab take out if you're in the area, but there are better places to be found in Hanover (Little Spice) or in Baltimore.
(3)Hoyt H.
We went here for lunch on a Friday. It was around 2pm, so there weren't too many people there. The place is in the Golden Triangle shopping center, which was a bit tricky to get to the first time, but GPS had no trouble finding it. The food was very tasty, and we'll definitely be back. For appetizers, we had Garden Rolls and Chicken Satay. Both were well prepared, with very tasty sauces. For entrees, we had the Chawa Fried Rice (awesomely spicy), and mixed vegetables. Service was decent, and the prices were reasonable for a nice sit-down restaurant.
(4)Caroline N.
The food here is amazing. Don't let the exterior fool you. The inside is much nicer, and the food (most importantly) tastes good and they give you enough! Thai restaurants who are stingy about their portions are bad; but this place gives you enough to take home leftovers! The workers are nice, but it does always feel like they need to hire one more waiter/waitress for the crowded times... Overall, it's probably the only decent yummy Thai place (with a good dinner atmosphere for a date) in Columbia/Ellicott City area.
(4)Erin M.
Ok, so you have to get the Lemongrass Beef Sate, or the Pla Prik Pow (salmon with a chili sauce and sauteed vegetables). Both are amazing. I also drool over the Tom Yum soup with shrimp. Good thai tea. (Try it with coconut rum, it rocks!) And home of our favorite waiter. The wait staff is always friendly, and gives good recommendations. They even know our orders in advance and recognize us when we come in.... even if it's been months since we were last there! A real gem in HoCo!
(5)Steve B.
Excellent Thai food! We were waited and served quickly. I had the spicy catfish. Fantastic! Spicy, but not hot. Wife had Basil Talapia. Another great dish. Soup and salad appetizers. Fair prices. Only complaint was that it was very cold in the restaurant and I had to wear my jacket.
(4)Sara K.
Went there starved after a hike and asked the waitress to recommend something that's not sweet since I dislike sweetness in my meals. She recommended the fried catfish. SO DELICIOUS. I ate every last speck. That was the first time I had thai that I really liked. A memorable meal. Before this I had been to Amina Thai but the food was so darn sweet. Liked the fried catfish a lot better.
(5)Dale B.
The best tasting a Thai food in the area. Great price sand they actually make the food authentically spicy on request. Many other restaurants in the area still do not make it genuinely spicy when asked. Their Drunken Noodles are the best!
(5)mj s.
I've been to this place twice. The first time I got the pad thai with chicken and I thought it was pretty good. The second time I got drunken noodles with beef (if I remember correctly) and I thought it was really good! I also got the taro custard for dessert which was very very good. The prices are decent and the portions are pretty big as well (for me at least).

My parents came here without my brother and I before, however, their experience was forgettable because they made the mistake of ordering their food "extra spicy" and found their food too spicy to be considered edible. This year, however, we decided to give Thai Aroma another shot, having considered my parents made the mistake of saying "extra spicy" when they had never tried the food in the first place. My mom ordered their pad thai with tofu; the pad thai was sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet. I tasted a bit of her leftovers (the dinner portions are huge), and was amazed by how fresh the veggies were. The veggies were sauteed to perfection; the green peppers still had a good crunch to them, as did the bean sprouts (I think limp veggies are absolutely unpalatable, might as well eat baby food). I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken, though typically, the menu says that it is made using pork or beef. I was delighted with their willingness to accommodate me :) My drunken noodles also had a ton of veggies in them, and they were so yummy! The noodles themselves were flat-noodles, cooked al-dente. Overall, I wish my dish was made using less fish oil, but was still pleased with how it tasted. My brother ordered their green rice, which he gobbled up in record time. My dad ordered their fried eggplant dish, which, upon tasting some of it, I found to be too oily, however, my dad thoroughly enjoyed his dish, as did my mom and brother. I highly recommend you give Thai Aroma a chance, I'm so happy we did again. If you're Asian, I highly suggest you refrain from ordering things "extra spicy" if you've never been here before, because my parents were unable to tolerate the heat, and they're Indian (we eat some pretty darn spicy food). I know this is a thai place, but I wishfully expected a fortune cookie at the end of my meal and could not help but feel a little disappointed when I did not receive one. It would be nice to receive some sort of tiny complimentary sweet at the end of one's meal here, as this place is moderately priced.
(4)Michael R.
I have been to this restaurant many times over the years and am always impressed by the complexity of the flavors. I love the curries! I love the pad thai too. I've never had a meal I didn't like. The waiters and waitresses have been friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
(5)Rob N.
Still a fan. The waitstaff will actually dissuade you from ordering things from the menu they don't think is really up to snuff. I love their spicy seafood dishes - the spicy catfish in a chili-coconut curry sauce, and the basil tilapia with dried red chilies is pretty damned good. They'll even make the basil tilapia without the chili but still full of warm Thai spice so it's not fire-y but still flavorful. Even the wife, a renowned pepper-o-phobe, will eat this and like it when done un-chilied. UPDATE: New decor! Gone is the carpet! Gone is the 80's paint job! In with new tile floors, a fountain, and vivid yellows!
(4)Michelle L.
It took a while for the waiter to stop by our table to take order and gave us utensils. Food was ok, then I noticed a roach on the glass of my finished drink. I don't think we would go back again.
(1)Serena L.
Pad thai is not the best compared to other thai restaurants but i always go for curry and dessert
(4)Starr C.
I've been here a handful of times and was here Thursday with my mom for lunch. It was pretty quiet and we were seated immediately by our very attentive server. We ordered calamari to start. It came out pretty promptly and we gobbled it up. A bit chewy, but otherwise delicious calamari served with a yummy sweet and sour sauce. I got a pad thai, my go-to for Thai places for comparison (and somehow I've never gotten it here before...) while my mom got Thai fried rice. The pad thai was delicious and the portion size was just enough to make me question whether I could finish it. (What a silly question - I ALWAYS FINISH PAD THAI.) The Thai fried rice was also good, although it's not as flavorful as my mouf-ful of peanuts pad thai was. Verdict on food? YUM. Our waitress was also super attentive to us. Filled our water, brought hot water to my mom very quickly, took away plates and brought extra napkins when requested. Maybe it was because the restaurant wasn't terribly busy, but I felt very well taken care of.
(4)Justin W.
Great food. Quiet. Inexpensive. Hidden gem in ellicott city. They have the best drunken noodles i've tasted yet. I go a few times a month. Always very quiet and great food.. Also, Mango sticky rice for a dessert, you won't be disappointed.
(5)Connie L.
My coworkers and I always get lunch from this place. When it's good it's SO good but sometimes it isn't that great. The portion sizes also vary almost every time we order which can get annoying. The drunken noodles and pad see ew are my favorite dishes.
(4)Wendy M.
This place falls under the universal Thai restaurant paradox - why charge so much and give us so little food? This was my second time at this place. Paid about 9 bucks for the Angel Stuffs, which turned out literally to be two small chicken tenders stuffed with seafood. But it was presented beautifully, and I knew I was eating at a Thai place which meant I was going to be gypped- so no complaints. Service was excellent. Waters were refilled as soon as they emptied; waiter was extremely friendly and gave recommendations when we asked. Always smiling and pleasant, and you never feel rushed. I asked for the drunken noodles a little less spicy than usual. I got my drunken noodles - not spicy at all. Whoops. Maybe he hadn't understood what I'd said. There must be a rice famine going on because the bowls of rice we got with our green curry were about the size of a hamster bowl. Extra rice costs money. Next time I'll just bring my own rice, not like there's a shortage of that at my house. I'd highly recommend this place if you want to try some exotic desserts at relatively elevated prices. My favorite was the mango sticky rice; but at four bucks, you get a carefully measured teaspoon of sticky rice with about a fifth of a mango. Food tastes good, looks beautiful. The only problem is that it costs way more than it should.
(4)Andy D.
The low rating is for the service and ambience. We had a party of 11 and our orders came out incredibly slowly, and at least 20 minutes passed between the arrival of the first order and the last. They also took forever to come back with our credit cards to pay for the check. Apparently, they had trouble splitting the cost among three cards. It wasn't particularly packed in there, although they were doing quite a few take-out orders. The restaurant smelled like nachos and it was cold. They had a portable heater near us but then turned it off without even asking us. The food was fine. We ordered red and green curry, pad thai, pineapple salad, mixed seafood, beef panong curry, chicken kabobs, and it was all decent-- we just wish we had gotten our food and our check in a timely manner.
(2)Ken L.
Fantastic Thai food. Delicious. All the standard curries, pad tgai, mango and sticky rice. Mmmmmm. Great service too
(4)Christina S.
I dont think it matters how good the food tastes if the service is horrible. Terrible terrible service from the older lady that works here. We were seated and waited 20 minutes until I finally just got up to ask the lady if we can order and she literally snapped at me saying that she had to take care of the other tables that came before us first. Um I guess that means we cant even get a water? And mind you, the tables that came before us were already ordered and eating their food. Only reason for the second star is for the young gentleman who came to apologize for the reaction from the older lady and took our orders right away. Too bad I lost my appetite after getting snapped at.
(2)Samuel K.
Went here with my coworkers today for the first time. I got the Pad see-ew and it was really good with some sriracha. My coworkers got the drunken noodles and yellow curry which was also very good. We got it for carry out and the restaurant was very empty so I advise that you go here around lunch time if you dont want a rush.

I called at 8:40 and placed an order and was told it would be ready in 10 mins. I arrived approximately 30 minutes later and the place was closed but i saw people inside and my order on the counter. Though they were standing at the counter (which faces the door) they did not acknowledge my presence. I had to call to ask what the deal was, and they then informed me that they were closed. What? This was not mentioned during our phone conversation (had it been, i would have not ordered, as i live about 20 minutes from this place). In the end, they refused to give me my order because they "closed the register", and I had to get my Thai elsewhere.

Great thai food. This is one of my favorite local restaurants. The green curry is by far my favorite of them all and they have very nice portions. Staff is really nice and helpful.

Ordered food to-go earlier this week and the service and food was just as good as in house. Ordered: Green papaya salad, fried spring rolls, green curry with chicken, and pad kew so/pad see ew (the big wide flat noodles with chinese broccoli). Yummies! The Pad See Ew is definitely a household favorite here! We usually get it with chicken and the amount of chicken and chinese broccoli is quite generous. The noodles have the right texture with the perfect amount of sweet/salty soy sauce brown sauce.

Not that great... Thai Aroma - It's kind of like a sick joke...because when you walk in, you are hit with a TIRE aroma coming from the mechanic shop next door. Seriously, it smelled like the rubber from tires and oil from car engines. Next Smell - We were seated in the back...right next to a dirty mop and cleaning supplies. Now I could smell cleaning products. So much for "Thai Aroma" - besides - I eat good Thai food all the time, and aroma isn't something I remember - it's the taste. Now Indian food - that's got an aroma. The food was okay. I've had better. I asked for my curry to be spicy, but I guess they didn't take my request seriously. There was 0 spice at all. Next time I'll have to shout - "I WANT IT REALLY REALLY SPICY - PED MA" The salad we had was okay - It was missing a few common ingredients. The pho soup (I know I know...you only order pho at a Vietnamese pho joint...) was made with instant seasoning. Not good at all. The coffee I ordered also did not taste fresh - it tasted sour - like it had been sitting out for a while. No cute Thai waitresses. Instead you get 2 flamboyant (maybe gay?) younger guys who talk really really loud - I was confused why he was yelling....? They graciously thanked us on our way out, after we left our tip... The parking lot in this place is a clusterfock. Tons of Koreans who can't drive just drifting around looking for parking spots, slow turners and slow reactors - I start getting the sweats whenever I'm in these kinds of parking spots. The Lottee grocery store kind of sucks too - I like H Mart better. Do not recommend.

Went here with my mom and fiance for an early Sunday dinner. We arrived around 4 and knew we were beating the dinner crowd, but the place was completely empty the entire time we were there. There were a few takeout orders, which made us feel better haha. Other than that, we had a great experience. Friendly waitstaff and comfortable atmosphere. Garden rolls: Pretty average, but solid Pad Thai Tofu: Yum! And nice large portion! Volcano Chicken: Fiance loved this and said it hit the spot perfectly! Pho Beef: My mom loved that the broth was less fatty than our usual pho restaurant. It was more expensive for a smaller portion, and they didn't give as much meat as our usual place, but she was still happily satisfied. Overall, we will definitely be back when we're in the area and craving Thai!

Calamari appetizer light and delicious, but VERY small portioned. Almond shrimp is wonderful as is the Basil Shrimp. The curries are always good.

for the location and the fact that there aren't many other Thai places near by, it's good Thai food. I've had way better in Silver spring and Northern VA. Very nice staff super smiley and positive. maybe to makeup for the food but who knows. the Drunken noodle wasn't spicey at all [I didn't ask for it to be spicey mind you, it usually comes pretty spicey already] but still delicious.. the Panang chicken was good but oh so watered down and greasy. but they gave you a good amount of chicken and peppers which was good. the Garden rolls were tasty and good portions the peanut sauce was watered down as well though... all in all it fixed my thai food craving but I wouldn't take someone there for their first time ... or their second.

I love this restaurant. They make the most flavorful Tom Yum and Pad Thai. Not only are the ingredients fresh, there is no residual MSG headache!

I'm out on the East Coast for school. I am used to really good, authentic Thai from California (SF and LA), and I approve of Thai Aroma. You receive very friendly service and very good food. This is what we ordered and what I thought: (We've eaten here twice, now) THAI ICED TEA: Good. Can't really get this wrong. My dining partner thought it tasted "old" but I think it tasted just fine. GREEN PAPAYA SALAD: Menu says it's seasonal, which I didn't understand until my dining parter reminded me that it's different out here. It is VERY SPICY, which is how I like it. NOT FISHY, which is also how I like it. The portion was super generous. GINGER SCALLOPS: Large scallops served in a ginger broth that contains veggies and diced ginger. It's very gingery, which was great for me, but my dining partner thought was a tad too much. VOLCANO SHRIMP: It's not as spicy as it sounds (papaya salad was spicier), but still very good. The sauce reminded me of something similar to that Pho sauce. TILAPIA MANGO: Fried strips of fish topped with diced fresh mango. It comes with a liquid-based sauce with different types of veggies. We had this dish as take out, so everything came in separate containers. I chose not to use the sauce, but my dining partner used it and thought it was very good. Bottom Line: Dine here. It is a little pricy, but worth it.

I had an enjoyable dinner. The service is friendly and very quick. I shared an order of the tofu garden rolls with my companion and had the pad thai tofu. The garden roll filling is very tasty, but the rice wrapper was gooey and not appealing at all. The peanut sauce it came with was more gravy-like than I would have preferred. The pad thai was tasty, but a bit sweet for me. The tofu in it was abundant and deliciously prepared. Just charred enough on the outside, while still moist on the inside. For dessert we shared an order of baked taro custard. It's delicious! Definitely a treat.

I've eaten here quite a few times and I've never been disappointed. It's not the best Thai food in the world, but the dishes are nicely flavored and filling. It is a little pricey for this caliber of Thai food, but doable. I love the Drunken Noodles and my boyfriend loves the Yellow Curry. I think the best dish I've ever ordered though was the Eggplant and Shitake mushrooms, YUM. I'm not a vegetarian, but I could be if dishes like this were at my beckoning call. It's all pretty dang good. The service is good and the takeout is fast. Very solid place.

I've eaten here a handful of times and basically "inconsistent" should be the title of this review. In the past the drunken noodles and pad thai were pretty good. Last week we went we ordered Pad Thai and Lemongrass Beef. The pad thai was deep orangeish-red- c'mon people, there is no reason for pad thai to be red! It wasn't even spicy, it's like they used a ton of red food dye or something. It didn't taste like anything actually and didn't even come with peanuts on top. My white self following a white guy's directions (Alton Brown) can make better pad thai than this any day. The lemongrass beef was also bland and came with what looked like sweet and sour sauce out of packets which added the only flavor it had at all. Plus it was served over fine rice noodles instead of rice which is weird. Also this place should be called "Tire-Aroma"... we always get carryout because how could you stand to smell that for an hour. Try Cha-ya sushi and Thai in Columbia. It's not awesome either but a step up from this.

Thai Aroma... I love drunken noodles so every time I got it here I just tried my best to ignore the fact that the aroma of Thai Aroma's drunken noodles had a strong note of.. wet dog. Why say it or even think about it if no one else at the table seems to notice it? Well then the last time I came here, I brought a rather outspoken friend to try thai food for the first time and the conversation went sort of like this... Me: So kellie, how's your food? you like it? Kellie: It's good but why's it smell like wet dog..? Me: .... *reveling in the fact that I'm not crazy after all* Kellie: I'm serious. DO THEY PUT DOG IN HERE??! Me: no kellie, don't be silly. And their mango and sticky rice is blah. I'm adding a star to my original 2-star rating because I have to give them credit for their Basil dishes, they've never disappointed me :) Also one time when my SO at the time ordered his drunken noodles as spicy as they could make it--they delivered. We even ended up getting coconut water to calm his seizuring tastebuds! That's when you know its "spy-sayyyyyy!" And even if their drunken noodles smell like wet dog, I'd still eat them. And this has nothing to do with the fact that I'm Korean! I'm serious!!

Chawa Fried Rice and Cashew Chicken are fantastic. Service is friendly but if you can't make it in, CarryOutMenu.com will deliver it to your house if you are in the local area - Score!

I ve been eatin here quite regularly for a year now. It never disappoints me. Decent Thai food and good service. It's an oldschool Thai place with a little drinks bar to go with the food. Definitely a place to try out atleast once. Try the chicken spring rolls, they are the best.
(4)Paul P.
Superb Thai food and service! the masamun beef curriy was very authentic and cashew chicken was simply delicious! will definitely visit again
(5)Elise M.
The panang curry is wonderful here. They don't add sugar to their curries unlike some other Thai places.
(4)Reina A.
SO tasty! It's in a random shopping area but once you're inside, you know it's going to be tasty! I had the garlic and broccoli stir fry (DELICIOUS), for dessert, I had the mango and sticky rice (yum but not the best). Overall, a great deal. Also, the server and owner were attentive and kind!!
(4)Mikel B.
super friendly servers. I have eaten here for a few years and never had a bad meal. One complaint: the spice level varies depending on the cooks that day. I like spice but I've gotten dished that made my eyes water.
(4)Arjun M.
This place has the worst service ever, rude as heck to customers, they refused to split checks and behaved with racist undertones. The food was mostly bland, and was moderately priced. They also mandate gratuity for their crappy service.

I've been looking for good Thai food and I think I finally found it. They offer a great array of typical dishes, from eggplant/basil flavor combinations--which seems rare to find-- to unique salads and both seafood and other meat entrees. My local Thai place doesn't even have eggplant on the menu, so humph! Thai Aroma has lots of choices for a vegetarian, and there is a note on the menu that they can make anything vegetarian if you ask for it. The service was great and the flavors were fresh and refreshing. Despite its strip mall location, totally worth a trip. Shop at Lotte Plaza while you're there, and pick up some seaweed and bok choy!

The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. During the week there is no wait. I would certainly return here

Although I've passed this restaurant dozens of times over the years, I had never eaten there until recently. The decor is simple with a subtle Thai/Buddhist influence. The menu itself is very simple and clearly explains each dish. I didn't want to be cliche and order the pad thai so instead I ordered the drunk noodles (its not AS cliche as pad thai...). As soon as I ordered it, I second guessed myself and wanted to change my order to a curry dish, but oh well.... The service was very good. My water glass was never half empty which is a good thing in a southeast asian restaurant because the food is usually spiced up with hot peppers. With food that hot, you can never have enough water. The food came out very quickly which was both pleasant and suspicious... I wonder if they have big vats of noodles and sauces in the back just waiting to be ladled out in different combinations depending on the order... But whatever, the food was pretty good. I don't know if it was authentic thai, but its something I could definitely want to eat again in the future. My only wish was that the food was a little spicier especially since the menu listed the dish as being extra spicy (as denoted by the two peppers drawn next to the menu listing) but I guess thats what the siracha sauce is for. All in all, a very pleasant and quick meal. My perceived lack of authenticity knocks it down a bit. But again, tasty food is tasty food no matter how authentic it is.

Typical strip mall, high-ish quality Thai food. Colorful presentation and very large portions. The spicy dishes were actually spicy! All of your usual Thai food is available: Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Curries, Duck, Crispy Fish, Basil Chicken. Fun selection of girlie drinks: Pina Colada, Mai Tai, etc. Overpriced table wines are available: Lindemans Bin, White Zins, Cheap Chardonnay, and Plum Wine. They do have sake, but do not have cold unfiltered Nigori sake (the best for Thai food, in my opinion). All in all, a no surprise operation! Most entrees start at $10.95.

Great Americanized Thai food. I've been here half a dozen times in the past 6 months and have't had a bad meal. The only bad thing I can say about the place is that most of the dishes lack heat.
(4)Allan C.
We came here for a rehearsal dinner and the majority of the dishes were dishes that I've never had before. They were all quite tasty and... refreshing... for lack of a better word. Perhaps it's because I'm more used to having more greasy fair at Thai places. After a weekend of two huge Thai meals, I was still in a huge mood for Thai food. Going to some other places, I realized that Thai Aroma has some really tasty appetizers that I can't find elsewhere! What made them all great were the different dipping sauces for the chicken skewers or cucumber salsas for the fish cakes... and man... I'm going to have to hit this place up the next time I'm back here. Also, they have a fried cheesecake dessert that's just awesome. I'd come here for that, alone.

very disappointed with the pad Thai, I read the reviews and see all the hype about how good the food was. but it wasn't that great as what I expected.

I'm a new fan of thai food. I've been trying to find a place that makes a better panang curry than Thao Aroma, but haven't yet. The price is somewhat high but it is well worth it. Try the chicken basil fried rice and the drunken noodles.
(4)Thy T.
1. The price is awesome for lunch. 2. Very nice and polite waitreses. 3. Doesn't take long to bring out food. 4. Most Thai dishes are very tasty - Plus, you can modify the dish however you like (fried tofu instead of meat, more noodle, vegetarian...) 5. No extra charge if you want to share. 6. If you have an team lunch, fax your order ahead and tell them the time you come - They will bring the food (pipping hot) out as soon as you settled in your seat. 7. Love their Jackfruit ice-cream on sticky rice. You gotta try this. 8. Nice and clean. They make excellent: Pad Thai, Pad Woonsen, Drunken Noodle, Vocano Chicken, all Fried Rice dishes are yummy (I love the Green Curry Fried Rice)
(5)Michael M.
This place was alright. They not particularly authentic IMHO (I have been to Thailand), but it is passable. I would say their dishes have a lot of vietnamese influences - the pork "chili stir fry" tasted a lot like Vietnamese Caramelized Pork, with the addition of green peppers and a bunch of red chili flakes. I prefer Bangkok Delight to Thai Aroma.

THIS PLACE DOES NOT KNOW THE MEANING OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!! Me and a group of friends went to this place for lunch. Two of my friend made meat substitutions on the items on the menu because of their strict diets. We told this to the waiter, he did not mentioned anything about a price difference nor was there any price changes for substitutions on the menu. When the bill was presented the price more than doubled. When we questioned the waiter about the bill, he did want to talk to us and he threatened us with the police if we did not pay. I have never been disrespected like this before. I am very surprised that this place is still in business. I only gave one star because I had to.

Consistently good - our go to take out place. Never had a bad dish from them, great service as well.

there might be other good thai places but you will not find drunken noodles like the ones they have here anywhere else!!! I have to avoid drunken noodles when i go to other thai places because i know i will be disappointed compared to here. aside from drunken noodles, green fried rice is always great (as is their green and panang curry). never had a bad appetizer here, just depends what you're in the mood for although i will say that their chicken satay is phenomenal! all of their stir fry dishes are tasty but not sure that i'd say above and beyond any where else (although the thai basil krapow is up there with the druken noodles, i'm convinced it's the same sauce except with rice instead of noodles). Also, anything you order that's a "saucy" dish (esp the curries and drunken noodles), you can't go wrong ordering extra vegetables on top of whatever meat you choose. they will charge you for it but it's worth it! I've only been here during lunch (i work in the area) and the service is always frank and the the point--not overly friendly but still quite efficient. Actually, we go here so much that they no longer bring us menus, assuming we don't need them-- which is correct !
(5)shruti k.
As authentic as it gets... if you ask for it! The first couple of times I went here, I was a little disappointed, as their fare seemed to be made with the "American" palate in mind (ie, waaayyy to sweet and not enough spice and flavour). As someone from Thailand, I was pretty bummed since I had been expecting something a little more authentic from a family-owned restaurant. The next time I went there, I spoke with one of the servers, and after I specified that I wanted my food made in the authentic way, he hooked me up! The best som tum and khao neow in Baltimore, hands down! Soooo.... from my experience, as long as you tell them that you want your food prepared in the authentic way, and at an authentic spice levels, you won't be disappointed :)

This restaurant in a Asian shopping center with at least 4 restaurants of various types. We went on Super-Bowl Sunday so it was pretty empty. The server was friendly, spoke English well and was very willing to change dishes for my wife's food needs. Large selection, many quite interesting choices. Service was fast and every dish we had was just spectacularly good - and a lot of it.
(5)justin p.
good thai in a less than inspired location. big selection, big quantity. definitely will take some food home. i got tofu green curry. yum. wife thought that it was korean-inspired thai, which may be right since it's in a korean shopping center. at any rate, she doesn't normally like thai, but she liked her pho soup.
